I just wanted to tell you how pleased I was with the recent move from Andrews Air Force Base to Scott Air Force Base by your company. I particularly wish to commend three people who moved me Mr. Rick Molve, Mr. Don Hogan and Mr. Aaron Hollowell. They did absolutely superb job in a professional manner well above the average movers. I must confess I was a bit concerned with the packers from another company, but when your folks arrived, they put my fears to rest plus they were exceptionally customer oriented. Upon our arrival at Scott AFB they made a special trip to the local hardware store to obtain replacement bolt that was missing from our portable basketball goal an effort above and beyond. Please pass my appreciation on; you can be proud to have people of this caliber in your organization.

I wanted to let you know that the crew that moved me Elizabeth Gronvall, from 205 Lake Street in Libertyville, IL was incredible. They were efficient, professional, kind and speedy.  I will definitely recommend you and your company to my friends. “Please promote them”
Elizabeth Gronvoll, Residential Move
Last March my husband and I had to clear out his mother’s home in a period of two weeks sorting out the possessions, dividing them into lots and arranging for lots to be transported to four different locations in four different states. Shur-Way on very short notice, packed up the entire six bedroom home loaded up in various lots and conveyed them across the country. The lots included valuable 18th and 19th century antiques, large family portraits and fragile crystal and porcelain that have been in the family for 4 generations. Not one of them were damaged in the move my husband and I are about to retire and although we do not live in Illinois it is our intention to turn to Shur-Way to move us from Rhode Island to Virginia. Every aspect of their service was superb.

I would like to take this opportunity thank you so very much for the two truckloads of invaluable provisions that Shur-Way shipped to Jefferson Parish. Your company’s efforts have touched the lives of many deserving citizens and will forever be grateful for generosity in their time of need. Again, my heartfelt thanks to you and your entire organization, for this tremendous undertaking, to help the residents of our parish that were affected by Hurricane Katrina. With deep gratitude always, I remain

NTC Great Lakes has recently scheduled your company to move my household effects to Northern Virginia. To make a long story short, our move to Crystal Lake was a move from hell. Upon learning that your company would be tasked with our upcoming move I decided to check you out as your moving company name is not familiar to me. I visited your facilities off Route 176 this morning.  After almost 30 years in the Marine Corps, I have gotten a very good at judging things, and I was most impressed with your facilities and your employees. Specifically, Miss Dawn (sorry I didn’t get her last name). The warehouse and the grounds were very clean and neat and to say that Ms. Dawn was over-tasked would be an understatement. However, she was very friendly and was able to pull my file in seconds, which to me is indicative of a professional organization I am very pleased that the government has chosen your company to move us if your employees are the same caliber as Ms. Dawn this should be our best and easiest move.

I would like to express my sincere appreciation to you and the members of the Great Lakes personal property office for the courteous service you provided me with my PCS move from Great Lakes to Pensacola. I also wanted to convey a hearty thanks to Mr. Doug Brzezinski and his extremely professional and competent team at Shur-Way Moving. No question was this the most incident free and professional move my family and I have experienced in over 30 years of Naval service to include countless PCS moves. Shur-Way is a class operation operated and managed by true professionals. The entire process combined with your expertise and coordination made our transition quite smooth. Your generosity and kindness was most appreciated and thank you again for a pleasant experience Best wishes!

We are writing this letter to acknowledge the outstanding moving and storage services that your company Shur-Way Moving & Cartage has provided Great Lakes Naval Base since the 1950s. Over these many years you have conformed to the Department of Defense and logistic standards and regulations that are required to be an approved moving and storage agency. Your company has provided the moving services for thousands of enlisted personnel and civilians coming in and leaving out of our area of responsibility, which includes 64 counties in Illinois, Indiana and Wisconsin. One measure of your good standing is reflected in some high-profile moves you have been contracted to do over the years. When the fighting CBs unit had to be moved from Glenview naval air station Illinois to Fort McCoy Wisconsin Shur-Way was selected for the volume move doing it in the time requested with the utmost professionalism. When our entire personal property office had to move from our old facility to our brand-new one in February of 2000 Shur-Way was selected for the job which went very smoothly without any damages. In the spring of 2001 Shirley was selected from approximately 130 carriers to move Defense Secretary Donald and Mrs. Rumsfeld from Chicago Illinois to Washington DC. We realize that sometimes the jobs that you’re asked to do can be very demanding with time constraints and logistical challenges we thank you for the courtesy responsiveness and professionalism that you bring to each job.

I am writing to commend you on the excellent service that you have provided Butler Woodcrafters for the last seven years.  Shur-way Moving is one of the best delivery services that I have ever had the pleasure of working with.  Our customers have often commented on how polite and courteous your employees are.  You are always ready, willing and able to go the extra mile to ensure customer satisfaction. Your entire staff truly exemplifies the meaning of professionalism. I look forward to a continuing relationship for years to come.
Katie Longest, Logistics Manager Butler Woodcrafter
On behalf of the Northeast Illinois Council, Boy Scouts of America, I am writing to tell you about the positive relationship we have formed with Shur-Way Moving & Cartage. Shur-Way has been donating warehouse space for our annual fall Popcorn sale fundraiser every year since 2007-present. Beginning in September each year, they professionally and cheerfully have accepted Popcorn deliveries from our supplier valued at approximately $1.5 million per year. Not a single item gets damaged and they count the inventory meticulously as it comes off the trucks. Their warehouse employees help move, sort, and distribute orders to Boy Scout Packs and Troops over a 4 day period. Starting in 2010, Shur-Way started making it an option to deliver popcorn to the homes of Pack and Troop leaders for a very reasonable fee. This year, we had over 50% of our Packs and Troops opt for that option because of the convenience and more importantly, the professionalism and customer service of the Shur-Way delivery crews when they arrived at their homes. Between the start of the sale in September and end in November, Shur-Way stores remaining popcorn at the warehouse for us. Their management gives 2 Saturdays at the warehouse so we can be there distributing popcorn to Pack and Troop volunteers who need to pick up on a weekend. They have stayed late, come early, and always with a great attitude about the service they are doing for the local Boy Scouts. They also work with us to deliver a truckload of popcorn to Abbott each year at the end of the sale and a semi load of popcorn to the Great Lakes Naval Base. Their staff has been great at working with the folks on the receiving end to ensure smooth deliveries on 2 campuses that have somewhat complex security and requirements related to receiving shipments. Our relationship with Shur-Way goes deeper. This past fall, we hired the Shur-Way movers to handle the relocation of our new CEO from Colorado to Wadsworth, IL. They were quick, professional, and handled each of the family’s items with care. Our CEO was very happy with the company. I have a feeling there are many other Scout people who have since used Shur-Way for moving needs because of their generosity and customer service towards the Boy Scouts. We would, with no hesitation, recommend Shur-Way to any individual or company looking for a moving and cartage company. Though they ship all over the country and word, Shur-Way is a local family-owned company that cares about their people and their customers.
Kim Weidner-Feigh, Fundraising Director NE Illinois Council, Boy Scouts of America
Just a note of thanks for continued professionalism exhibited by your staff. I have had the pleasure of working at Lake Forest Place for several years and am always been with confidence that I recommend your company to our incoming residents. At Lake Forest Place we value our residents above all else and are happy when they have a good moving experience. Moving at any age is stressful and I thank you for relieving some of that worry for our new residents. Your staff (field and office) is always courteous and respectful of both the contents they are moving as well as our property. It is easy to call or write a nasty letter when service is poor, I would much rather take the time to write a glowing letter of thanks.
Lisa Krieger, Presbyterian Homes
We just wanted to write a quick note to let you know how happy we were with the move; the crew worked so hard!   They were pleasant and polite and made a very long day tolerable.  Tell them not to worry; we won’t be moving for a while, but if we do, we will give you a call. Thank you.

I have worked with Shur-Way Moving & Storage for over 20 years using them for tenant refit work, moving tenant furnishings out of their space for carpet and paint work and then moving them back in. But I also use them for my personal home from Illinois to Wisconsin. In all cases the work went without a hitch. The crew showed up when expected, the costs were estimated, nothing was broken and I was happy. Their work is never less than professional, and I would highly recommend anyone looking for reliable moving company.

Cancer Treatment Centers of America would like to let you know how much we appreciate the great job Shur-Way did for us relocating 70+ people and storage from one location to another. From the very beginning with initial meeting and all the way through the project completion you and your staff were absolutely wonderful. We could not have asked for better customer service. We were impressed that you asked for a planning meeting and then brought with you all the key people who would be involved in the move so they can meet with us and do a walk-through ahead of time. After the planning meeting Betsy Peshut was a great help to finalizing preparations by tagging boxes for us and becoming familiar with the entire site. During the actual physical move Dan Peshut, Jim Johnson, Brad Yanny & Betsy Peshut and all the rest of the crew were very thorough, easy to work with, efficient and really did an outstanding job. We have been through smaller moves before and they did not go nearly as smooth as this one. This move went of incredibly well and finished ahead of time. The few blips we had were because of miscommunication on our end. The final positive note was that we saved significantly by staging the move (non-essential items going first and essential items going last so we would have minimum downtime) starting on Tuesday finishing on Friday instead of running into the weekend. The pre-move planning recommendations of your staff and the efficiency with which Dan and his counterpart at the new location handled the move certainly added to our savings. We enjoyed working with you and your staff this entire project we applaud you for a job well done.
Nora Orrick, Cancer Treatment Centers of America

I’m writing this letter with the highest recommendation for Shur-Way Movers, in particular Josh Murray and his staff. Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science have had the pleasure of utilizing many services offered by Shur-Way Movers for the past three years. Shur-Way always submits very competitive price quotes and suggests more efficient methods of completing a particular project which usually leads to the cost savings for the University. This is certainly the case when Josh and his team at Shur-Way were awarded our library resource center (LRC) book relocation project they proposed a method never considered by anyone at the University nor by any of the other moving companies we have been in communication with. Their ideas enabled us to reduce the cost of this particular project by nearly 50%. Josh and his team always make themselves readily available to answer any questions we may have whether before, during or after the project. In addition to their competency I appreciate their honesty. On two separate occasions members of Josh’s staff found lost items belonging to the students of the University and turned them over to the appropriate persons. The students were more than happy, to say the least. Shur-Way Movers will always be considered for moving and relocation projects for Rosalind Franklin University.
Vince Butera, Rosalind Franklin University
During our ongoing construction and renovation here at Condell I wanted to take a minute to say thanks to you and your crew at Shur-Way for all your help. I especially appreciate the responsiveness on short notice sometimes it 4:30 AM to move our many hospital beds and get them back to our rooms where they’re needed. It has been a pleasure working with Shur-Way our Libertyville neighbor. We look forward to working with you well beyond our “dust” and will be happy to recommend you to our other facilities for their moving and storage needs
