We used Shur-Way 10 years ago with fantastic results, so when we recently moved again, there was no doubt in our minds who we would contract with again. The crew (John H, Mike F, Aiden, Devell, Adam and JD) arrived on time and got right to work. Even being one of the hottest September days, they worked steadily until the trucks were loaded. And while we only moved across town, they arrived at our new house following a quick lunch break, and repeated the process emptying their trucks. They reassembled the items that were taken apart and they even assisted with reassembling our Sleep Number bed, which was a BIG help! And the cost was less than we anticipated, which is always a nice surprise. We just could not be happier with Shur-Way.

Had a great move yesterday and today with Tyler, John, Aiden, and Colt. They not only did a professional job, they were courteous and attentive. Best movers we’ve had in our 25 years of marriage which included 9 military moves.Thank you.I give them my highest recommendation!

Colt, Tony B John H and Prezson did an OUTSTANDING job packing up my things. They were very professional and fast!! Shur-Way Moving & Storage has been excellent for our cross-country move, Illinois to Arizona. They provided a fast and remarkably accurate quote, did careful and efficient packing of all our household goods, great preparation and loading of all furniture and boxes, and provided the muscle to move “leftover” furniture inside the house from upper and lower floors to the main floor/garage for sale and donation. Javier, Develle, and Nick were especially incredible. Everyone has been kind, helpful, and extremely hard working. Our household is in storage for the next month, but we trust that we’ll get the same amazing service on the other end of this move. Highly recommend Shur-Way!

We just finished our move today in Mundelein and I can’t say enough about the crew of Javier, Tony, Jack and Doug. They are everything we could hope for in a moving company team from Kim and Scott to the four movers. Despite it being rainy, hot and humid the never complained

Scott and team were incredible. Arrived on time, loaded the truck and place boxes in each assigned room with no errors. Nico and Lamar were very cautious moving furniture so it wouldn’t get scratched. I would highly recommend Shur Way for any moving project.

8/30/24 UPDATE: We got to Georgia at the end of June and our things were sent here…kind of, we got confirmation they were “all there” and they were sent to storage since we were looking to buy a home.They were delievered the other day, and while everything seemed to be there, things also seemed to be opened and gone through, and we do have things missing.

The motorcycle arrived, one of the saddle bags is missing, my husband had his rain suit and some other belongings in it. The other saddle bag is here. He needs a rainsuit- This is coastal Georgia.

I opened a box that was labeled “living room” and in it was all of my cast iron cookware AND a mirrored wall hanging that was not wrapped, just tucked down the side of the box next to the cast iron. It’s broken of course.

A whole box of brand new egyptian cotton towels are missing. I have no towels in my house, I have to buy more.

Half of my mother’s china (full service for 12 with serving pieces added) which was heirloomed to me after she passed away was taken OUT of the box that it had been carefully wrapped, packed and insulated in for 5 years while in storage. It is now in a small Rubbermaid bin, a Christmas snowglobe was placed on top of it and the top pushed down- it was overfilled. the first cup was broken- I stopped right there because I just can’t bring myself to look further- and by the way WHERE is the rest of it?!

A Mikasa serving platter- doscontinued pattern- packed on the bottom of a box of heavier dishes. Broke in half.

When our truck was totaled right before we moved, we took the toolbox off of it. My husband put his iPass in it, and because of how hectic our life was, he forgot to deactivate it. He got a notice from the tollway of unpaid tolls on that pass from mid-July IN Illinois. We have been in Georgia since June 26th. You do the math.
He has informed me that the toolbox was locked and we have the keys, but it was left open when it was dropped off and a whole set of channel locks is also missing.

NEVER USE THIS COMPANY. They hure unskilled labor and treat them badly- so not a lot of care is taken with the packing and the moving. They simply DON’T CARE.

Not only does this company deserve to lose its contracts with the military, they should lose their civilian contracts too. This whole experience has been so stressful. I would pack and move myself if they were the only mover in town

I wish I had seen this page before the current nightmare we are having with this company. I would have told my husband to call the organizer of our PCS move and ask them to find another company. They screwed up our move, made us postpone our cleaning and walk through, losing 3 days from our rent reimbursement. Now we have to go back to the house for the cleaning service instead of being on the road tomorrow. After reading these reviews I am also concerned that our belongings, including my husband’s motorcycle, which we need since we have only one vehicle due to an accident which totaled our truck, will NOT be where we need it to be when we arrive in Georgia.
This company should lose their contracts with the military, because it looks like they don’t give a crap about doing a good job for those who serve. Moving is stressful enough without dealing with this BS.

I hired Shur-Way to move a large, extremely heavy safe. Colt, Tony, JD and Javier M were awesome!! My wife recently completed a renovation of our staircase and they used extreme care to make sure there were no issues. I was extremely pleased with the job they did and will definitely recommend Shur-Way for anyone that is in need of movers!!!

Great experience with Shur-Way. Ryan initially came over and provided the quote based on the ‘stuff’ he saw. Within a few days I called their office and scheduled the move.The morning of, it ended up snowing a few inches. Despite this, the Shur-Way team arrived on time with two trucks. They promptly laid down runners throughout my hallway, discussed what to move first, and got to work. I liked that they clarified if some items were to be moved or not.After the trucks were loaded, they made two stops. One to our temporary housing to drop off a piano, and the final stop to our storage unit. Considering how much ‘stuff’ we had, it only took approx 5 hours to move everything (and it was snowing the whole time). I would recommend them, and would hire them again when we move to our permanent home.

They arrived at 8:30 and never stopped. They were polite, neat and very careful with all of our belongings. Packers Amanda , Becky. & movers Casey, Dresden, Martin are all very nice & more than accommodating. There seems to be a disconnect between them & office staff & quote personnel. We marked everything out as Scott instructed us to, but when loading and unloading there is not a fluid system. We have incurred some damage and are still unboxing 10 days later. Hopefully we do not find any more damage to the remaining items. Overall I would recommend you contact them if you are considering moving.

I am an older woman and they were great when I was packing up the last items they moved the boxes helped me out with tapping them after they were packed. After my experience with Shur-Way I would never use anyone but Shur-Way if I ever have to move again.
