Winter Moving Tip

Posted by on

When moving during the winter it is always a good idea to make a clear path for your movers.  You can shovel and put down a light layer of salt.  Using too much salt will only cause more problems by it being tracked in/out of your homes.  Any outdoor items;(patio furniture, BBQ, fire pits, flower pots, umbrella stands, etc...) should also be cleared of all snow and ice.  Some items may be frozen to the ground...do not try to force these items up as they will most likely break.  Simply use some luke warm water to free them from the frozen ground and then place them in your garage if you can.  Also turn down your heat as the front door of your home will be open most of the day.  Please consider what the new home will look like as well, it is equally important that the new location has a clear path for your crew to access as well.

Moving Tip

Posted by on

Please be organized the day of your move.  If moving locally or long distance all cabinets with loose shelving will need to be removed(glass or wood).  If you are paying by the hour, you may want to do this before your mover arrives. Saves time and money.

Moving Tip of the Week

Posted by on

No matter where you are moving to, locally or long distance, it helps to leave your garage door open and move your cars down the street, the morning of your move. This helps in several ways, if you are going local it saves money because they will have to ask and wait for you to move your vehicles when they arrive. Also will help identify your address more quickly, as some homes are difficult to locate the address. Maybe you do not have a garage. If you are in an apartment or condo building, your address too could be difficult to locate as well. In this case you should request the driver call you prior to arriving so that you can meet them and guide them to the correct location.
